Egg Before Chicken

Now you know.

Turns out I love editing!

Editing + Flotsam

While I’m a producer, I’ve always loved editing. Actually, I’ve always loved getting my hands on any cameras, lighting, and sound equipment, but most of all editing because you’re in there shaping the story.

Even if the results were…not perfect…I feel like going through the process helps me be a better producer; to anticipate problems, and interpret for my clients and between departments more effectively.

Some highlights (for me) below.

Pastor Kaleb Easter Service –  2021

Pastor Kaleb Easter Service –  2021

In its 22nd year, Pastor Kaleb’s Easter Service is typically performed to sold-out audiences at the Century Ballroom on Easter Sunday. This year, Kaleb Kerr and his crew go online for the second time. It’s a theatrical Easter service produced with love and earnest satire by some of Seattle’s top comic, cabaret, and musical performers, now available to a broader audience.

Super fun to edit this together as well as doing some shooting and directing.

Elarm Experiments – circa 2014

I took a break from agency work and took a job as the Marketing Director at an Internet of Things hardware start up, in charge of the company’s strategic branding and marketing initiatives.

In order to test a new campaign concepts, I shot and edited some videos and tested their appeal on social media. It was great fortune that my social media manager is also a wonderful actor. We had a lot of fun making these quick and dirty videos.

For your convenience, this was our first, Fluffy, No!

Sucka Nite

Sucka Nite the Movie – circa 2005

A group of friends used to do a live Saturday Night Live-style show. Think Sunset Tavern, The Tractor, and the Jewel Box at the Rendezvous. We even made pre-filmed “commercials” for set changes. So after about 8 shows, we all got busy with life in general.

A couple years later, about 2004, we thought, let’s just, you know, make a movie in our spare time, like, how hard could it be?

Anyway, we made it, and it is what it is. Link available by request only to protect those who think they could’ve done a better job acting.
